I’ve been playing hammered dulcimer since the fall of 2000. It’s a hollow wooden trapezoid crisscrossed with metal strings, played by striking the strings with small mallets called hammers. The sound is clear and resonant; it reminds some of piano or harp.

“Fallen,” from What Child Is This?
Hi Marcy, What is the name of the piece used in the Macaulay Library snippet on the Quicktime site? Great tune and your playing is superb.
Thank you, Luke; it’s an original tune called Third Street Market.
Will you make that piece available on one of your future albums?
I sure hope so! It may still be a few years before I get to another album; it’s too large a job with a preschooler in the house.
